The Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis proceeded to a reshuffle, with the Minister of Agricultural Development, Kostas Tsiaras, the Minister of Civil Protection Giannis Kefalogiannis and the Deputy Minister of Health, Dimitris Vartzopoulos remaining out of the government, after the resignations they all 3 submitted, due to their presence in the case file for OPEKEPE.
In the place of Kostas Tsiaras, in the Ministry of Agricultural Development, was appointed the former commissioner, Vice President of the European Commission, Margaritis Schinas, who is an extra-parliamentary solution.
In the Ministry of Civil Protection is appointed as minister the former Chief of the Air Force General Staff and former deputy minister Evaggelos Tournas.
The case files will be accessible over the weekend in Parliament, so that the representatives of the parties (and the interested parties) are informed about the content.
No replacement is appointed for the Deputy Minister of Health, Dimitris Vartzopoulos, but the responsibilities for mental health pass to the Minister of Health Adonis Georgiadis.
At the same time, Christos Kellas, whose name was in the first case file and then had not remained out of the government scheme, now leaves the government and in his place, as Deputy Minister of Agricultural Development, is appointed the parliamentary representative of New Democracy, Makarios Lazaridis.
As regards the lifting of parliamentary immunity that are requested in the case file, government officials state, according to News 247, that, as the government spokesperson also said yesterday, New Democracy has as a principle to accept the requests for lifting immunity of MPs.
