Storm Agneta has caused serious disruption across the Dodecanese, Samos and Magnesia, flooding homes and roads, damaging infrastructure and prompting Fire Service interventions. The Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY) has updated its emergency weather bulletin, warning that heavy rainfall will continue through Tuesday.

On Rhodes, a river overflowed in Archangelos, flooding dozens of homes and businesses, while rushing floodwaters swept away more than 60 vehicles. At 3:30 a.m. on Monday, an emergency alert was issued through the 112 system, urging residents to limit travel. Schools remain closed in Archangelos, Afandou, Lindos and southern Rhodes.

On Kalymnos, a large boulder broke loose and landed in a garage, while a stream overflowed in the Heraion area of Samos. In Nea Anchialos, Magnesia, extensive flooding caused damage to water supply, sewage and municipal street lighting networks.

According to the Fire Service, 28 emergency calls were recorded on Samos, 18 in the Dodecanese and 12 in Volos.

The Fire Service reported 28 calls on Samos, including ten water-pumping operations, 18 in the Dodecanese and 12 in Volos. On Rhodes, firefighters also moved two people to safety.

Severe weather is expected to continue across the Dodecanese on Monday, reaching the Ionian Islands around midday and the western mainland and western and southern Peloponnese later in the afternoon.

On Tuesday, thunderstorms are forecast to spread to central and eastern Macedonia, Thrace and the northern and eastern Aegean islands. Severe weather in the Dodecanese is expected to persist until late afternoon, with localised hailstorms also possible.
