Russia attacked yesterday with drones and missiles areas across Ukraine, such as Kyiv, Odesa and Dnipro, killing at least 17 people and injuring 100+, in the deadliest air attack it has launched during 2026.
Almost 700 drones and dozens of ballistic and cruise missiles were used, while Ukrainian officials stated that the critical stocks of advanced interceptor missiles are being exhausted.
In the meantime, the European Union will begin the disbursement of a loan of €90 billion to Ukraine in the second quarter of 2026, something that in the previous period had been blocked by the prime minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, who will be succeeded by Peter Magyar.
The peace talks of the two countries, with the mediation of the US, have practically been interrupted after the start of the war of the US-Israel in Iran.
“Our support toward Ukraine, as well as the continuation of pressure and sanctions against the aggressor Russia, was a very important part of the agenda,” said the EU Commissioner for Economy, Valdis Dombrovskis.
Donald Trump condemned on Thursday the massive Russian attack with drones and missiles across Ukraine, after related questions by journalists at the White House.
Russia has repeatedly targeted buildings and critical infrastructure since the beginning of the full invasion launched by Vladimir Putin in 2022. Since Donald Trump returned to the White House last year, the attacks have intensified, causing prolonged blackouts this winter in Kyiv and in other cities.
