A major police operation has been underway since this morning in connection with alleged financial fraud involving Pizza Fan, which operates a network of 100 stores across Greece.
The investigation, led by the Directorate for Combating Organised Crime (DAOE), concerns tampered cash registers and other alleged offences. A criminal organisation linked to the company is suspected of failing to remit at least €25 million in VAT to the state since 2022.
Those arrested reportedly include the owner, a senior executive, store managers and accountants.
Searches are being carried out at homes and stores, with nine people arrested so far. Authorities have also seized more than €500,000, luxury cars and jewellery.
