The crowd at Oasis’s sold-out concerts at Wembley Stadium, the UK’s largest live music venue, set a new record for the stadium, consuming an average of 250,000 beers per show, according to The Times. The Britpop band, which originally split in 2009, has already performed five shows at Wembley and will return for two more in September as part of its reunion tour.
This level of beer consumption far exceeds the 120,000 beers sold at Coldplay’s show last year and the 40,000 at Taylor Swift’s concert in Wembley. With 80,000 fans attending each night, the average comes to three beers per person—though in reality, since some fans don’t drink or choose other beverages, the per-drinker average is likely much higher.

The beer sales alone translated into over £2 million in revenue, with each pint priced at £8.20. The newspaper also reported that roughly 4,500 kegs are moved in and out of the stadium per concert, and that local pubs have seen a noticeable boost in beer sales thanks to the Oasis crowd.
The demand has even put pressure on Wembley Stadium to find creative solutions for drink storage. According to The Caterer magazine, the catering team found itself in a “turf war” with cleaning and maintenance staff, trying to repurpose cupboards and spaces under escalators as makeshift storage areas.
