In 2024, the majority of those driving without a license were riding motorcycles, with 42,038 violations, followed by cars (29,959) and mopeds (5,147). Additionally, 339 were school bus drivers, most of whom had a license but failed to renew it within the required two-year period.
The highest number of violations occurred in Attica, with 30,026, followed by Crete with 8,112, Thessaloniki with 7,398, and Western Greece with 5,338.
Under the new Traffic Code, the penalty will be €350 (up from the current €100), along with the suspension of the driver’s license and license plates for 30 days.
