Russian overnight strikes killed at least 15 people in Kyiv and the surrounding region, according to Ukrainian authorities. The attacks also triggered fires at several warehouses, while loud explosions were heard across the capital shortly before midnight.
In a post on Telegram, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said 14 people were killed and 27 injured in the Kyiv region during an overnight Russian attack.
Earlier, Kyiv’s military administration reported that one woman had been killed in the capital.
On the front line, Russian and Ukrainian forces are fighting for control of the last towns in the Donbas still under Ukrainian control.
In a Telegram post, Russia’s Defence Ministry said it had struck transport, logistics and distribution centres in Kyiv and the surrounding region, which Moscow says were used to store and transport weapons, military equipment and drones.
In Russia, Ukrainian drone attacks on the Tula and Belgorod regions injured three people, according to local authorities.
Meanwhile, a drone strike on a crowded beach in southern Russia two days ago killed seven people, including three children, and injured 40 others.
