Following the verdict, the court adjourned to consider any mitigating circumstances and determine the sentences.

The case concerns the events that the woman, who was 19 at the time, said she experienced on the night of 11 October 2022. According to her testimony, she approached police officers patrolling in Thiseio and asked for help regarding an incident at the restaurant where she worked. She said they referred her to the duty officer at Omonia Police Station. They drove her to the station, offering to show her around the premises, before two of them led her to the changing rooms, where they raped her.

The defendants admitted that sexual activity had taken place inside the police station and acknowledged that their conduct had been inappropriate, but maintained that it had been consensual. The prosecutor had recommended their acquittal on the grounds of reasonable doubt, arguing that the absence of consent had not been established beyond a reasonable doubt.
