The UAE want to open together with the USA the Strait of Hormuz by force in order to break the naval blockade and they exert pressure for a UN resolution that will authorize such an action, which would be the first involvement of a Gulf country in the War against Iran, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Emirati diplomats have called the USA and military forces in Europe and Asia to form a coalition for this to happen, while an official of the UAE stated that the Iranian regime considers that it is fighting for its survival and is willing to drag the global economy with it, strangling the strait.
Trump stated that the war may end “very soon, even in 2 or 3 weeks”.
The official of the UAE stated that the country has examined its capabilities to contribute to the security of the strait, including efforts of mine clearing and other support services.
The Gulf state has also stated that the USA should seize islands in this strategic sea route, including Abu Musa, which is under Iranian control for half a century and is claimed by the UAE.
Donald Trump at the same time stated that he has already achieved one of his main goals for the war of the USA and Israel against Iran, the elimination of its nuclear program, however something like that is not confirmed, says the New York Times.
