Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested in the United States on charges of sexual offences allegedly committed between 2010 and 2017, following a request by the British authorities for their extradition to the UK.

The brothers, who hold dual British and American citizenship, were arrested in Miami on Saturday.

Specifically, the two brothers are accused, among other offences and depending on the case, of rape, assault, sex trafficking, possession of indecent images of a minor, and extreme pornographic material.

In June 2023, the two brothers and two other individuals were charged with rape, sex trafficking, and forming an organised criminal group for sex trafficking.

Thirty-nine-year-old Andrew Tate additionally faces seven rape charges, three counts of organising or facilitating human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation, three counts of assault causing bodily harm, and 19 further offences relating to indecent images of a minor and extreme pornographic material.

Thirty-eight-year-old Tristan Tate additionally faces one charge of sexual assault, two rape charges, and three counts of organising or facilitating human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) stated that the 38 additional charges, beyond the 21 already brought, concern alleged offences committed between July 2010 and August 2017.

Matt Jury, the lawyer representing four British women who allege they were victims of Andrew Tate, said: “Andrew and Tristan Tate are accused of some of the most serious offences, including multiple counts of rape and human trafficking. The time has come for them to be held accountable before justice.” The two brothers maintain their innocence.
