Panathinaikos won their seventh European title by defeating Real Madrid 95-80 in the EuroLeague’s Final 4 Championship Game in Berlin.

Ergin Ataman’s team staged a remarkable comeback from a 14-point deficit (trailing 41-27 at the 12-minute mark), showcasing exceptional defense in the third period. This victory marked their return to the summit of European basketball after 13 years.

Final 4 MVP Kostas Sloukas concluded the game with 24 points, marking a historic achievement as the first player to win the EuroLeague title with three different teams (twice with Olympiakos, once with Fenerbahce, and once with Panathinaikos) since Sarunas Jasikevicius. Kendrick Nunn contributed 21 points, while Mathias Lessort added 17 to the scoreboard.

Panathinaikos ranks third in EuroLeague victories, with seven titles, trailing behind Real Madrid, who holds 11 titles, and CSKA Moscow, with eight titles.

In addition to the excellent defense, the “key” to the victory was the team’s accuracy from the 6.75 line, shooting 12 out of 22 three-pointers, along with dominating rebounds(37 against Real’s 31).

After the match concluded, thousands of Panathinaikos fans poured into the streets of Athens and other cities to celebrate the team’s trophy win.

Olympiacos secured third place in the Final four by defeating Fenerbahce 87-84 in the “small” final. This marked Olympiacos’ second time clinching third place, the first being in 1999.
