P. Diddy’s trial began yesterday, where he faces charges of extortion, sex trafficking, and transporting individuals for prostitution (illegal in the U.S.). The charges primarily concern the “Freak Offs,” multi-day orgies involving drugs, where he allegedly coerced women into participating through threats or promises, and recorded the events to blackmail them.
On the first day of the trial, jurors viewed videos showing the defendant beating his former partner and singer, Cassie Ventura, in a hotel [1], [2]. Two witnesses also testified about the assaults on Cassie by P. Diddy.
The first witness was Israel Florez, the security manager at the hotel where the couple stayed, whom Cassie had called for help. He testified that Diddy attempted to bribe him. The second witness was Daniel Phillip, a stripper Diddy called to have sex with Cassie Ventura, and who witnessed the assault. His testimony will continue today.
More than 50 lawsuits have been filed against him for rape, among other allegations, with the youngest alleged victim claiming they were 10 years old at the time of the attack.
Diddy, who has been in custody since September 2024, pleads not guilty, claiming that the charges against him are unfounded and that it is a case of domestic violence instead. His attorney also asserts that all attendees at the parties he organized were consenting adults.
The maximum sentence he could face is life imprisonment, with the trial expected to last 8-10 weeks. Additionally, over 50 lawsuits have been filed against him for rape, among other charges, with the youngest alleged victim claiming they were 10 years old when the assault occurred.
