At least 108 people, including children, were killed by Israeli bombings in northern Gaza over the weekend, according to local health officials.
“The nightmare in Gaza is worsening. Horrific scenes are unfolding in the northern strip amid relentless Israeli attacks and a deepening humanitarian crisis,” said Tor Wennesland, UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, in a statement.
Hezbollah launched drone attacks on Israel, with one targeting the residence of Israeli Prime Minister B. Netanyahu, causing material damage. The prime minister and his wife were not at home at the time, and no injuries were reported.
On Sunday, 114 trucks carrying humanitarian aid entered Gaza, according to the Israeli government agency overseeing the operation.
“The attempt by Iran’s proxy, Hezbollah, to assassinate me and my wife today was a serious mistake,” Benjamin Netanyahu wrote in a post on X.
After the attack, Israel responded with dozens of rockets fired into Lebanon and launched airstrikes yesterday on Hezbollah-affiliated branches operating as community banks, according to Al Jazeera.
Israel claims that this bank “directly funds Hezbollah’s terrorist activities, including the purchase of weapons and payments to members of Hezbollah’s military wing.”
