Three people were killed and seven injured in an Israeli airstrike today on an apartment building in the southern suburbs of Beirut. According to an IDF statement, the target of the attack was a Hezbollah member who had been assisting Hamas in carrying out attacks against Israel.
This is the second major attack on the outskirts of Lebanon’s capital since the November ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah, with the first occurring on Thursday. Additionally, numerous smaller attacks have been reported daily in southern and eastern Lebanon.
A mass grave containing 15 healthcare workers was discovered the day before yesterday in Gaza. They were executed “one by one” on March 23, according to the UN.
The two sides of the agreement that ended the 14-month war between them are accusing each other of violating its terms. The agreement required Israeli forces to withdraw from all Lebanese territories by the end of January, while Hezbollah was supposed to end its armed presence in southern Lebanon.
Since the resumption of attacks in Gaza, before an agreement for the second phase of the ceasefire was reached on March 17, over 1,000 Palestinians have been killed π(bringing the total to 50,357 deaths since October 7, 2023), with UNICEF reporting that 322 children are among the dead. The UN has condemned that one week after the resumption of attacks, the Israeli army executed 15 healthcare workers and paramedics “one by one,” and their mass grave was discovered on Sunday.
