Yesterday, Israel began its “large-scale ground operation” in the northern and southern parts of Gaza, where at least 200 Palestinians were killed within less than 24 hours.

Prior to the ground operations, Israeli aircraft had been heavily bombing Gaza in recent days, according to testimonies from cities like Abbasan near Khan Younis in southern Gaza, in preparation for the ground assault.

The new operation will unfold gradually, in different phases, and can be paused if an agreement is reached with Hamas, as indirect negotiations between the two continue in Qatar.

Israeli military operations have resulted in the deaths of at least 53,339 people in Gaza, the majority of whom were civilians.

The chief spokesperson for the Israeli military stated yesterday that Israel’s plan is to divide Gaza into separate areas, forcing the population to evacuate the regions where the IDF will operate.

At the same time, “limited humanitarian aid” will be allowed into Gaza, nearly three months after its complete blockade, which has pushed its residents to the brink of famine.

It remains unclear when exactly the aid will resume or how and where it will be distributed, while plans for a new U.S.-backed aid distribution system that would bypass Hamas have not yet been implemented
