In a statement to MEGA, Israeli Intellexa owner Tal Dilian admitted for the first time that his company, which sells the Predator spyware, collaborates only with “governments and law enforcement authorities.”
This confirmed Intellexa’s cooperation with the Greek government, which had control over the EYP, even though the Supreme Court decision, which dismissed the political aspect of the wiretapping case, stated that “no connection between EYP or any state agency and the surveillance software was found.”
It is the first time Dilian has publicly acknowledged his collaborators, something he had not done during the wiretapping trial.
Dilian also clarified that his company “does not have operational access after the systems are delivered. Responsibility for the lawful use of these technologies lies with the authorities that acquire and operate them.”
Tal Dilian is one of four private individuals originally convicted in the case, receiving a sentence of 126 years and 8 months in prison.
Following this revelation, PASOK president Nikos Androulakis commented that “Tal Dilian revealed that the Predator operation is directly linked to the government and state authorities. Mr. Mitsotakis can no longer hide. He owes answers now.”
“The narrative the New Democracy government, and personally Mr. Mitsotakis, invested in that private individuals acted allegedly unchecked, risking national security and violating human rights on their own, has completely collapsed. Predator and the illegal surveillance were tools of a deep-state apparatus set up by the Prime Minister and the Maximos Mansion,” he emphasized.
