  1. Today, a meeting will take place between Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakisand representatives of farmers and livestock breeders.
  2. The meeting will be held with the group that claims to represent14 road blockades, after the Panhellenic Committee, representing 57 blockades, said “no,” denouncing what it called “divisive games by the government.”
  3. They argue that the government is demanding equal representation (20 + 20 people) with a group that represents fewer blockades (the group of 14), which from the start had sought dialogue with the government, against the decisions of the Panhellenic Committee, which is now considering a possible rally in Athens.

A meeting is scheduled for today at 15:00 between Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and some representatives of farmers and livestock breeders at the Maximos Mansion.

The meeting will take place with the group that claims to represent 14 blockades, after the Panhellenic Committee of the 57 blockades refused to participate, denouncing “divisive games by the government.”

They claim that the government is asking for equal representation (20 + 20 people) with a group that represents only 14 blockades (and therefore fewer members), which from the beginning sought dialogue with the government, in contrast to the decisions of the Panhellenic Committee, which is even considering organizing a rally in Athens.

The government speaks of “party-backed agents” and a “minority of farmers” who, it says, are setting fire to yet another meeting with the prime minister.

As explained by Sokratis Aleiftiras from the coordinating committee of the Nikaia blockade to Efimerida ton Syntakton, it was impossible for representatives of 62 blockades to be compressed into a 20-member committee, while a similarly sized committee of “willing” farmers would also be present.

The 14 or 18 blockades have “appeared” two more times, without names or signatures, and none of them include the major blockades of Thessaly and Macedonia, according to News247.

Government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis spoke of “party-backed agents,” referring to the “minority of farmers” who, he said, are sabotaging yet another meeting with the prime minister, adding that “in the end, the one who refuses to meet is the one who appears to have no arguments.” He also stressed that “blocking Greece is illegal and the authorities must intervene.”
