Donald Trump will be the 47th President of the United States, having defeated Democratic candidate Kamala Harris by surpassing the required 270 electoral votes (277-224). The outcome was determined in seven swing states, all of which Trump appears poised to win.
He has already secured victories in Georgia, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina and is leading in Arizona, Michigan, and Nevada.
Trump will succeed Democrat Joe Biden and is preparing for his second term in the White House, following his tenure from 2016 to 2020.
The Republicans have gained control of the Senate, exceeding the 50-seat requirement, and are also leading in the House of Representatives (197-179).
Since this morning, he has given his victory speech at the Republican headquarters in Florida, while K. Harris postponed her speech yesterday at the Democratic headquarters in Washington.
In his speech, he promised, among other things, to bring a ‘golden era’ to the United States and emphasized that ‘this is the largest political movement in the country’s history.’
Trump is also leading in the popular vote by about 5 million (71,139,311 – 66,204,946), while Republicans have already secured the Senate and are leading in the House of Representatives (197-179).
