Since yesterday, Tuesday (30.12), emergency measures have been put into effect for the protection of vulnerable citizens in the Municipality of Athens, due to the particularly low temperatures expected in the coming hours in Attica (3°C -11°C), with local rain, light snowfall in mountainous areas and temporary snowfall also at lower altitudes (350-400 m.) in the evening.
The hotline 2105246515/6, ext. 0 operates 24 hours a day for assistance, while citizens can report locations where homeless people are staying by calling 1595.
The Agios Eleftherios Friendship Club (tel. 2102012334), at 372 Acharnon Street, is operating as a heated space to support the homeless, offering accommodation, food and basic care services. At the same time, Street Work teams are on the streets of Athens around the clock, distributing hot beverages, snacks, clothing and blankets, as well as providing guidance and assistance to those who have difficulty reaching the Dormitory of the Multi-Purpose Center for the Homeless. The Dormitory of the Municipality of Athens remains open continuously, covering accommodation, food and support needs.
For reports and immediate assistance, the call center 2105246515/6 (ext. 0) operates on a 24-hour basis, while citizens can also report locations where homeless people are staying via email at [email protected] and through the Municipality of Athens four-digit contact number 1595 (charges depending on the provider).
