US President Donald Trump is reportedly considering removing Kimberly Guilfoyle from her post as ambassador to Greece, following reports raising serious questions about her conduct before and during her tenure, according to the Associated Press, citing a senior US official.

According to the report, both Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are “furious” over the ambassador’s conduct and are seriously considering her removal. A decision is expected within the next week.

According to an investigative report by the Wall Street Journal, Guilfoyle allegedly threatened during an argument with Greek Energy Minister Stavros Papastavrou that the US could bring down any government, including Greece’s.

Democrats are calling for an investigation into Guilfoyle and have demanded that she provide her financial records and correspondence by October 22.

In a separate report, the Wall Street Journal revealed that Guilfoyle had asked a donor to the MAGA movement for $100,000 to pay off her credit card debt.

When recently asked about the matter by reporters, Trump responded: “Too bad. I mean, I don’t know, she’s an ambassador. I just heard a little bit about it. I don’t know much, but she’s always been very nice.”

According to the official cited by AP, Rubio is particularly upset because Guilfoyle greeted him with a warm hug in Athens and accompanied him at most of his public appearances, despite the allegations having already surfaced.
