The Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) has activated a new scheme allowing the settlement of overdue debts in up to 72 monthly instalments, offering taxpayers greater flexibility over time.
The scheme applies to debts that became overdue by 31 December 2023, with a minimum monthly payment of €30. To activate the arrangement, the first instalment must be paid within three working days of enrolment.
Interested parties may submit their applications until 31 December through AADE’s digital services. In special cases, the procedure may be completed through the “My Requests” application on the myAADE platform. This applies, for example, when electronic services cannot be used or when the application is submitted by a person who is legally liable for the debt without being the original debtor.
All income tax returns for the previous five years must have been submitted, applicants must not have a final conviction for tax evasion or smuggling, and there must be no other unregulated debts that cannot be included in the new scheme.
The arrangement covers overdue debts certified by AADE services, including local tax offices, Revenue Audit and Collection Centres, and Customs Authorities, provided that they were not under an active settlement arrangement on 21 April 2026 and had not already been settled under another scheme at the time the application was submitted.
