The Hotel Association of Magnesia is filing a lawsuit against all responsible parties and seeking compensation for the dead fish in Pagasitikos, according to its president, G. Zafeiris, in statements to fyi.news.

Mr. Zafeiris reported a 30% cancellation rate in hotels and a 90% rate of early departures in Alykes and Volos during the first week. The association anticipates that by early next week, when they will have updated data on bookings and cancellations, the situation could worsen further. “The economic damage is significant; we are worried about severe ecological impact,” he said.

The Thessaly Region, using its own crews and rented vessels, has collected 90 tons of dead fish in recent hours.

The Volos Chamber of Commerce has also filed a complaint against all responsible parties, highlighting the damage to the local economy.

Yesterday, the Supreme Court prosecutor requested an urgent investigation to examine any potential criminal liability related to the situation. Ms. Adeilini has asked for an inquiry into why the Karla dam was open and how the waters from the plain were directed into the Pagasetic Gulf.
