The criteria have been expanded for 3 to 4 million car owners for the new fuel pass, which is expected to open next week following yesterday’s announcements by the prime minister.
The subsidy for private vehicles on the mainland amounts to €50 for a two-month period via digital card (€40 without a card but via IBAN), while for the islands it is €60 via card (€50 without a card). The income criteria are: up to €25,000 per year for single individuals, €35,000 for married couples, plus €5,000 for each dependent child, and €39,000 for single-parent families, with an additional €5,000 for each child beyond the first.
Individuals will declare, on a relevant platform on gov.gr, the vehicle for which they receive the subsidy, for which they must have a share of ownership or a long-term lease contract.
The platform is expected to open in the coming days, so that the subsidy can be paid in mid-April.
Each vehicle can be declared by only one individual, and each individual may declare only one vehicle. A necessary condition is that the vehicle is in circulation, insured, and that no road taxes are owed.
The state will subsidize diesel fuel in the distribution network by 16 cents per liter, so that the final reduction for consumers and professionals, including VAT, reaches approximately 20 cents per liter.
Additionally, fertilizers will be subsidized (by 15% of the value of purchase invoices) for April and May, while there will also be intervention in ferry transport in order to contain ticket prices.
