On Saturday 10 October 2026, Nicosia will once again host United by Pride, the bicommunal Pride march that brings together communities from across the island.

Organised by Queer Collective Cy, United by Pride is Cyprus’s first bicommunal Pride event, an independent, non-commercial initiative created by the community, for the community. It brings together LGBTQIA+ people and allies from across the island, bridging political and social divides in the EU’s last divided capital.

It is the only Pride event in the world held on UN-controlled territory and the only one in the region to operate entirely independently of sponsors and public funding.

United by Pride is more than a celebration. It demonstrates what is possible when communities come together for peace, reunification and inclusion. It affirms that peace, inclusion and human rights are non-negotiable, making the event both a celebration and a political statement that challenges division and reaffirms the power of unity.

“The choice of the buffer zone is entirely deliberate. It is one of the few places where Greek-speaking Cypriots, Turkish-speaking Cypriots and everyone who calls this island home can come together with as few barriers as possible, transforming a zone of division into a space for collective action and solidarity.”

The artistic programme features A Man to Pet, Caramel, Gravity Grave, Karagöza, Nana, Nicholas and Tuti Calamari.

At a time of escalating conflict, authoritarianism and oppression, the organisers make the political message of this year’s event clear:

“We march for peace and reunification. For the liberation of Palestine. For queer and trans liberation. For migrants and refugees who face policing on both sides of the dividing line.”

The two marches will begin at 17:00, one from Eleftheria Square and the other from Kuğulu Park. They will converge in the Ledra Palace Buffer Zone, outside the Home for Cooperation.

The artistic programme features A Man to Pet, Caramel, Gravity Grave, Karagöza, Nana, Nicholas and Tuti Calamari.

See you on Saturday 10 October at 17:00.
