Thousands of anti-government protests took place on Saturday in all the states of the USA with the slogan “No Kings”.

The protesters, who are estimated at 8 million according to the organizers, held placards and shouted slogans against D. Trump, against the war of the USA in Iran, for the surge in the price of gasoline, against mass deportations and against ICE.

With the midterm elections being a few months away, the protests are examined as to whether they could lead to political shifts. Although the protesters were mainly Democrats, on Saturday dozens of protests took place in states that are controlled by Republicans or in areas (swing states) that do not have clearly Republican or Democratic voters.

The protests against Trump with the slogan “No Kings” took place for the first time in June 2025 and then in October.

However, overall the change compared to the corresponding protests of October was very small: 49% of the events took place in “red” or swing states on Saturday, compared to 48% in October, according to the data provided by the organizers.

The protests, however, take place while polls show that the popularity of Trump has fallen to 36%, the lowest percentage since the beginning of his term.

The White House reacted to the “No Kings” gatherings dismissively. On Thursday 26.03, the spokesperson Abigail Jackson stated that “the only ones who are interested in these ‘therapy sessions of Trump syndrome’ are the journalists who are paid to cover them”.
