We’re launching an international venture on Substack with a new newsletter in English. If you’d like to stay informed, you can follow us to receive every week: the five most important news stories of the week and a short explainer on a current issue.
It’s the most direct way to stay informed and support our work directly.
No ads — get informed in the quiet corner of your inbox.
Substack allows writers and content creators to create newsletters and send them directly to their subscribers through free or paid subscriptions.
The goal is to connect directly with their audience and earn money from their content without relying on advertising or large media outlets.
The platform supports various content formats: long-form writing, Notes (similar to tweets), as well as video or podcasts. This allows creators to experiment with different types of content and offer a more authentic experience to their subscribers.
If you’re also a creator in any way, think about whether you could use it too, in some way.
Users can subscribe to newsletters from their favorite creators, journalists, analysts, or authors. The topics are open and varied: from global news and pop culture updates to relationship or career advice and personal essays. Carrie Bradshaw would definitely make waves on Substack.
Through paid subscriptions, readers support creators directly, and the platform currently does not include any ads. (Of course, each creator can include their own advertisements within their personal newsletter.)
Substack was founded in 2017 by Chris Best, Jairaj Sethi, and Hamish McKenzie. Its motto, “A new economic engine for culture,” reflects its goal: to create a model in which independent writers and creators can earn revenue directly from their audience without relying on advertising or large media organizations.
Substack’s growing popularity shows that there is demand for a deeper connection with the creators we follow and for long-form content. At the same time, it reflects the desire to support independent journalism, as well as a growing lack of trust in traditional media.
Well-known names such as Rosalia, Pamela Anderson, Dolly Parton (!!!), and Patti Smith have joined the platform and share their thoughts with their audiences through their newsletters. More recently, Charli XCX joined in November 2025 and already has 70K followers.
