Among the 3.5 million documents of the Epstein case that were published recently, there are dozens of files that reveal the efforts of the former close associate of Donald Trump and “architect” of the MAGA movement, Steve Bannon, to make use of his contacts with Jeffrey Epstein for the support and financing of the far-right parties in Europe.

The messages concern mainly 2018 and 2019, when Bannon had been dismissed from the Trump administration and was travelling often to Europe with the aim to create a strong far-right movement within the European Parliament. His aim was to unite the far-right and Eurosceptic forces from various countries, such as Italy, Germany, France, Hungary, Poland, Sweden and Austria.

Bannon showed particular interest in the Italian far-right M. Salvini, while he approached far-right parties in Germany and France among others.

At that time his interest had turned mainly to Matteo Salvini, Italian deputy prime minister and leader of the far-right League, who was at the peak of his glory. The opposition parties asked for clarifications as to whether Epstein contributed to the rise of the League, since Salvini’s name was mentioned several times in messages that Bannon and Epstein exchanged.

There are no elements for direct relations between Salvini and Epstein, nor proofs that Salvini was involved in the Epstein scandal. What emerges from the documents is Epstein’s intense interest in the European far-right parties.
