Starting today, the online platform for submitting 2023 Asset Declarations (Pothen Esches) is open, allowing required filers to declare their assets as of 2022. The platform for 2024 declarations, reflecting assets from 2023, is expected to be available on November 18. On that date, it will also open for specific categories, such as individuals with new reporting obligations acquired between February 28, 2023, and September 30, 2024, who must submit initial Asset Declarations.
This year, the platform includes significant updates. The most notable change is that all asset information—such as income, real estate, deposits, and investment products—will be automatically retrieved, requiring taxpayers only to confirm its accuracy.
This new system enhances transparency by reducing the chance of income or asset concealment and simplifies the process of gathering necessary data, especially from banks. Authorities expect this updated approach to improve the submission process, strengthening transparency and efficiency.
The most significant change in Asset Declaration submissions is that all asset information, including income, real estate, deposits, and investment products, will be automatically retrieved.
